Have you ever experienced any failures that cause you to question your value as a person? Do you ever notice that when you talk to yourself negatively, you start talking to yourself as if you’re speaking to a stranger?

Well, self-doubt is like a cold that lingers on, getting worse as days go by, and until finally, it gets so bad, it becomes just like a raging case of the flu.

No matter how much you try to ignore it to remain positive, self-doubt is one of those things in life that will only get worse if you miss it and can still do you massive damage under the hood. It can be extremely debilitating and even lead to a complete emotional collapse in a stressful situation.

For many who become a victim of the stealthy attack of self-doubt, It can come as a surprise to them how they went from being a very confident and energized person to being a completely lost, drained, and hopeless person.

In this article, I will talk about how you can use positive self-talk statements to help yourself overcome negative doubts about your ability, your worth, and how others perceive you as an individual. When you speak positivity into your life, it can help you look at your life more positively to help you achieve that success that you always wanted.

What exactly are positive self talk statements

Positive self-talk statements are great tools to help us develop positive mindsets and attitudes about ourselves. It can help us achieve goals and maintain positive thinking when we are struggling in life.

Sigmund Freud’s research has proven that being positive can improve mood and happiness, and it is a well-known fact that our mind is shaped by what we think.

You must know your limits and the power of positive self-talk statements. Positivity breeds positivity and can help you in many ways, but it can only do so much for you like any other kind of self-help technique. You should never use them to try and get away with something or to lie to yourself or so call be delusional. Use them when you need to help you work your way out, but do not use them to get out or escape responsibilities.

When we practice excellent and positive self-talk statements, we learn to be more resilient to stress, improve our moods and emotions, and strengthen our relationships.

Remember, there is no one-size-fits-all formula when it comes to positive self-talk. It would be best if you were specific to the situation you’re in, the skills you’re working on, or the habits you want to change. The most important thing to remember is to keep the language simple and direct; it is there to help you gain a positive mindset but not to carry you away from reality.

Differences between positivity and negativity self talk

You might notice that you spend more time focusing on what’s wrong than what’s right when you harbor negative thinking. Or, you might find yourself dwelling on the negatives when things do not go your way. It is perfectly normal but instead of letting that negative self talk dominate your thoughts, try focusing on the positive aspects of those situations. Ask yourself, “What’s good about it?”

People don’t want to hear negative self-talk. I mean, who likes that? So, if you’re going to be the kind of person who can be optimistic even in the face of adversity, you need to train your brain to respond differently to negative and positive self-talk.

The good news is that you can train your brain to see the world positively, and you can make this change simply by talking to yourself in a positive manner. In many cases, we’re not even aware of our negative thinking patterns, and it may not even occur to us that we’re doing them.

We all have negative thoughts that go through our minds at times, but we don’t always notice these thoughts or recognize that they’re part of our mental makeup. When these negative thoughts arise, we can’t always stop ourselves from thinking them, which means that they start to take over our minds. They become the norm. Our thinking goes from “I can do this” to “I can’t do this.” We become discouraged and start feeling less confident in ourselves.

Let’s look at the differences between negative self-talk vs. positive self-talk.

What is negative self talk

Negative self-talk is a critical element of almost every problem a person faces. Many people tend to say things to themselves, such as, “Oh God, I’m so fat.” Or, “Oh boy, this is going to be a terrible day.” Or, “I can’t even begin to imagine how I’m going to do this,” Or, “I hate running. It’s torture.” Or, “I’ll never be able to do that again.” And so on.

All of these types of negative statements are what I call self-limiting statements, and they are statements that defeat you before you even start. Negative self-talk thoughts are what keep you from achieving your goals. It’s easy to get caught up in all the reasons why something won’t work out.

What is positive self talk

On the other hand, positive self-talk is simply talking to yourself in a positive way. Some people think that negative self-talk statements are more powerful than positive ones, and that’s not true. It is equally important to say positive things to yourself as it is to say negative things.

We all have days when we are down or feel bad about ourselves, and it is important to remember these bad days and give ourselves positive affirmations to help us get through these difficult times. It would help if you also told yourself that you are suitable or great at certain things.

You need to remind yourself of the positives in your life constantly. Remembering the bad will bring you down and not be beneficial for you. Learn to start to believe the positive statements you are making about yourself; when you do them enough, it will cause you to start having more positive days and fewer negative days that will help you achieve all kinds of positive results in your life.

Telling yourself, “I can do this,” you’re more likely to act on what you want and be motivated to take action on the things that matter most to you as opposed to negative self talk where you give up before you even start.

Do positive self-talk works

Positive self-talk is a powerful way to boost your energy, build confidence, and get you through hard times. It is your inner voice challenging your inner critic at work. But you must remember that positive attitude and positive phrases have no power by themselves, and for positive words to be effective, you have to believe in what you say.

If you are struggling with some negativity in your life, try using positive self-talk statements to help yourself become more positive. You will have difficulty convincing yourself of a negative belief if you believe something else first. Using a positive self talk statement is a great way to kick start and is highly effective and efficient.

There are a few ways that positive self-talk works for you: it’s easier to eliminate negative self-talk when we look at the positive things in life over the negative. It will help you to feel better and less anxious. When you have positive self-talk in your head, you are less likely to feel worried and more likely to feel confident. It will motivate you to do what you want. You will be more likely to get up and go for what you want instead of staying in bed, which provides you with motivation and help you to stay motivated and focus through difficult times.

Below are some known benefits when you speak positivity into your life.

Helps to reduce stress

We have to do many things in our lives, and it can get overwhelming at times. Sometimes, we can get stressed out about everything that is going on. Although we can’t just ignore our problems, research has shown that people who are more inclined towards thinking optimistically are also more inclined towards positive self-talk, which helps reduce stress.

Helps to boost confidence and resilience

It is not easy to be happy all the time. Everyone will have good and bad days in their life. However, you don’t have to let these negative days control you. You can always find a way to make your day better. You can start by thinking positively and learning to feel better about yourself. Learn to appreciate yourself, give yourself motivational self-talk, and acknowledge your accomplishments to help boost your confidence. With proper self-practice, you will also develop resilience and handle any situation that comes your way.

Helps build better relationships

If you want to have a good, healthy relationship with someone, you need to be positive and encouraging. Tell them how wonderful they are and how much you appreciate them.

By being positive, you will raise the person’s self-esteem, and this will, in turn, boost your relationship to a higher level. Being positive doesn’t mean that you have to agree with everything that person does, and it just means that you accept them for who they are, and you accept their attempts at trying to better themselves.

It is important to remember that you cannot change other people; only you can change yourself. If you decide to raise the person’s self-esteem by being positive, this will also help you have a healthier and stronger relationship.

How you can speak positivity into your daily life

The way that you talk about yourself is how you present yourself. If you want to be successful, you need to be positive and have good mental health. When making positive statements, the first thing to remember is to use “I.” So instead of saying “I can’t,” say “I can.”

It is true for many things and the same for everyone in life. If you want to be successful, it is imperative for you to develop a positive thought pattern and have encouraging words in your life to keep yourself motivated. Positive thought and practicing being grateful for all the things you already have in your life.

Have a positive outlook on life, and be more optimistic and energetic. Looking and thinking positively are positive energy that can help you achieve. Learn to be happy and enjoy your life and believe in yourself.

Don’t forget to tell yourself that you are doing a good job. Tell yourself that you are not afraid of success. You should not allow negative thoughts to enter your mind. You are the captain of your ship, and you can steer your way into success if you believe in yourself.

When you are in the mood for success, nothing will stop you from getting what you want. If you don’t believe it, I suggest you ask someone who does. Start looking at the positive side of things, and you will see the positive side of everything. Look at the bright side of life, and you will find a way to smile even when everything is dark.

How can I use this daily

Think positive self-talk statements regularly. For example, you could say something like this every day: “I am getting stronger and more muscular every day.” Think whatever it is you want to think. It doesn’t matter what words come out of your mouth as long as they are positive.

Here are some guidelines for positive self talk statements to help you.

Always think of the good in everything: Look at the silver lining in every cloud, no matter how small.

Count your blessings: Every day, list 3 things you are grateful for. It will put a smile on your face and make you feel happy, contented, and be a more positive person.

Focus on the positives: When you are feeling down, pick out 1 or 2 positive things that happened during the day and think about them that will quickly cheer you up.

Visualize yourself as the winner: Replace that thought with a more positive one if you have negative thinking. Imagine yourself winning the battle against that negative thought.

Repeat positive affirmations: Whenever you feel down, repeat positive statements to yourself. For example, you could say something like, “I am a wonderful person. Everybody loves me, and I have a wonderful family.”

What is important is that you be consistent in your positive thinking. Use the exact words and the same intonation each time you say them. It’s like exercising a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets, and soon, you will find that this will become a habit and become part of your automatic thoughts. It will give you enormous power to achieve your goals.

Positive self-talk statements will begin to program your mind to accept and believe in your ability to succeed. You will have a default positive thinking mindset, and the negative aspect of things will not bother you too much. Your faith in yourself will grow as your thinking becomes consistent, and you will improve your mental coping skill.

It will improve our overall quality of life. If you struggle with negative thought and emotional turmoil, this technique is for you.
